The Archdiocese of Toronto thanks everyone who took part in the Federal Election Debate from a Catholic Perspective. The candidates, volunteers, audience members and those watching the livestream all came together to create a special evening for our faith community.

We demonstrated that the public is eager for substantive, respectful dialogue on political issues. And the interest of the faithful from across the country showed that Catholics are engaged and active citizens.

If you missed the debate, you can watch this archived YouTube video of the event.

After the 2019 federal election, the Archdiocese of Toronto will start rolling out its new parish advocacy groups, tentatively named Parish Action. If you would like to receive more information about these groups in the coming weeks, please email communications@archtoronto.org to be added to a mailing list.

Most importantly, let us remember the words of Archbishop of Toronto, Cardinal Thomas Collins at the Federal Election Debate from a Catholic Perspective:

“Please ensure you vote on October 21... Pray both before we vote, and for those wishing to lead our country. Politics is a noble vocation. Let's not forget that.”
